Why Spiral model is also called as meta model? 

Spiral model can be viewed as meta model since it consists of all SDLC model. For example a single loop spiral actually represents the Waterfall Model. The spiral model uses a prototyping approach by first building a prototype before the actual product development starts.Also the Spiral Model can be considered as supporting the evolutionary model.The iteration along the spiral can be considered as evolutionary levels through which the complete statement is build.

 

Advantages of Spiral Model:-

3.High amount of risk analysis.

 

Disadvantages of Spiral Model:- 

1.Not good for small project.

2.Costly.
